Welcome to the stuff what I have made.

WOODEN OVERCOATS

Wooden Overcoats

For the majority of 2015 I was producing and directing this. It’s a podcast sitcom in eight episodes written by David K. Barnes and guest writers Cordelia Lynn (Leila and Co.), Tom Crowley (Shock Treatment), Christoper Hogg and Tiffany Woodsmith.

On the overlooked Channel Island of Piffling, obstinate undertaker Rudyard Funn runs his family’s failing funeral parlour. But when new and sexy undertaker Eric Chapman sets up shop across the square and becomes an immediate sensation, Rudyard realises he’ll have to take drastic steps to stay in business. With his frustrated sister Antigone, dogsbody Georgie, and a mouse called Madeleine, will Rudyard ever defeat his charming rival?

“A quietly significant moment in British Radio Comedy” The Telegraph

A stunning regular cast including Felix Trench, Tom Crowley, Beth Eyre (all in Drayton Trench as well) and Ciara Baxendale (My Mad Fat Diary). The guest performers are all autograph book worthy too. Featuring Andy Hamilton (Old Harry’s Game), Andy Secombe (Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, Star Wars), Steve Hodson (Follyfoot), Paul Putner (Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, Downton Abbey), Julia Deakin (Spaced, Hot Fuzz), Alison Skillbeck (Miss Marple, Dr. Who, Florence), Kieran Hodgson (Lentil Sorters, Lance), Freya Parker (Lazy Susan, Dead Ringers)Catriona Knox (Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe, The Boom Jennies), Jason Forbes (Horrible Science, Daphne), Phil Wang (Top Coppers, Daphne) and Thom Tuck (The Penny Dreadfuls, Horrible Histories).

We also had music composed for it by the fantastic James Whittle.

DRAYTON TRENCH: GREAT CEASAR’S GHOST

EPISODE FOUR

EPISODE FIVE

EPISODE SIX

This is a radio series written by the glorious David K. Barnes about the diminutive detective Drayton Trench. It was made by Zut Alors Theatre for the internet. The first three episodes were produced internally and then they asked little old me to finish them. I’m quite pleased with it actually. Hope you like it.

STUFF THAT TALKS AND BREAKS

VIEW FROM THE PUB TABLE

A play about a table and chair bickering in a skip. Like Waiting for Godot but nowhere near as good because I wrote it.

Contains infrequent swearing and frequent loud industrial noises.

Thanks to Goldsmith’s for their lovely studio, Neil Bull for letting me use it, Maxwell Tyler for being my Table and Dolores William for being my chair. Other thanks go to John Wakefield for generally just being proper helpful with his feedback. And Richard Shannon and Lizzie Milton for their help with script editing. Also Rory Bowens for letting me use his instant coffee when I was editing.

I am thinking about publishing the script online. If anyone would like that then do say so an I’ll make it available.

ME AND MY FRIDGE

This one is about a man named Graham and his fridge. He was a bit of a waster and then got his act together and built a fridge that could talk. Chaos ensues etcetera. It’s not “Her” don’t worry.

Max (the table in view from the pub table) is back as the lead. New to the series is Tom Crowley who is in a sketch troop called the Sad Faces who you should definitely check out. Laerke Neilson is also new. She’s a radio producer friend of mine. Her work is amazing. When you’ve listened to this, get involved in some of that.
